Searches for Creapure run to about 17,700 a month. The name is a trademark, not a type of creatine: Creapure is creatine monohydrate made by one company, Alzchem, in one German town. This page reads what that company publishes, what regulators decided on its applications, and where its studies show up, and separates what can be checked from what can only be quoted. What the name refers to
According to the brand's website, Creapure is a registered trademark of Alzchem Trostberg GmbH, manufactured in a dedicated facility in Trostberg, Bavaria, by chemical synthesis from sarcosinate and cyanamide, and sold to supplement makers who can licence the logo for their packaging (creapure.com, "What is Creapure?" and "The Creapure quality seal", retrieved 2026-09-17). The site describes the product as "100% vegan" because it is synthesised, and lists FSSC 22000, ISO 9001/14001/50001, kosher and halal certifications and testing for the Cologne List of banned-substance screening.
Chemically, it is creatine monohydrate — the compound behind nearly all of the research this site covers on what creatine is. Nothing about the trademark changes the molecule.

The site's framing is that purity is the difference. That is a reasonable thing to care about in a synthesised supplement — the site itself names dicyandiamide and dihydrotriazine as by-products that other production methods "can leave behind". But every figure in that argument, on both sides of the comparison, currently comes from the company making it.
What regulators decided on the maker's applications
The EU keeps a list of permitted health claims, and creatine has two. Neither belongs to a brand; any food meeting the conditions can use them.

So the manufacturer has one successful and one unsuccessful claim application on record, and both concern creatine in general. We cover what the cognition refusal said, and why it matters, on creatine benefits.
Alzchem also appears in the research literature from another direction. The authors of a 2023 meta-analysis of creatine and fat mass declare that the first author serves on the Scientific Advisory Board for Alzchem (Candow et al., Nutrients 2023;15(20):4343, PMID 37892421). A disclosed advisory role is not a finding against the work. It is a fact a reader weighing the literature is entitled to have.
Where the name appears in research
A PubMed search for creapure[tiab] on 2026-09-17 returns 3 records. Most trials that use Creapure name it only in their methods section, which PubMed does not index, so this undercounts use — but it also means the brand is rarely the subject of a study.
The ClinicalTrials.gov registry, searched the same day, returns 13 studies that mention Creapure:

The subjects range from childhood myositis and adolescent depression to bone mass in postmenopausal women, voice performance in older adults and a football squad. In each of these, Creapure is the source of the creatine being tested, not the question being tested.
Two registrations use it differently. A completed 2025 study sponsored by TSI Group compares its OptiCreatine against creatine monohydrate for plasma creatine and stomach effects, and a 2026 University of Oklahoma study compares Create Wellness gummies with creatine monohydrate powder. In both, a Creapure-branded monohydrate is listed in the registration as the comparison — other companies' new formats are measured against it as the reference, which says something about the brand's standing in the field without saying anything about its superiority over other monohydrate. What can honestly be said
- Creapure is a trademarked creatine monohydrate made by Alzchem in Trostberg, Germany; the molecule is the one used in most creatine research.
- Its purity figures are the manufacturer's: at least 99.9%, DCD below 20 mg/kg, no detectable DHT. We found no independent published batch analysis.
- Its maker has one EU health claim authorised (strength with training in adults over 55, 3 g a day) and one not supported (cognitive function, EFSA 2024). Both concern creatine in general, not the brand.
- No trial compares Creapure with another creatine monohydrate on muscle or performance outcomes.
- It is used as a reference product in at least two registered comparisons of newer creatine formats.
